BOOK: In An Antique Land

In An Antique Land
Amitav Ghosh

I like this book, partially because it is interesting to read, the author includes a lot of translations and etymology (I was a linguistics major in school... weird things interest me) and partially because the person who had the book before me wrote in the margins (small, neat letters in legible script... he may live.) more etymologies and translations as well.
The funny thing about it is that he (the previous reader) comes across as a very educated person leaving behind pithy and educated remarks... except for one remark. I don't remember the exact situation, in fact it didn't make much of an impression on me, however the comment in the margin was: —whoa.

Heh.

I can just hear Bill and Ted reading this book in my head now.
